It's sort of technical, but here is the story. As you may guess, we send notices to our customer base about events occurring at the winery. One such e-mail reached one of our customers at their AOL e-mail account. The customer inadvertently marked that e-mail as SPAM. Without investigating, AOL immediately blocked our server from sending any more e-mails to AOL accounts. They then sent a scathing message to the service company maintaining our domain warning them that additional violations (SPAMS) will result in a permanent block of all domains at the service company's server (see I told you this was technical). We were then notified by our service provider that we can not send any more notices to AOL or they will need to drop us as a customer. That would mean no more website.
In light of this AOL threat, we reluctantly bowed to the 800 pound gorilla and purged all of our AOL e-mails, and ask our customers to provide us with a different e-mail address. Might we recommend a nice Yahoo account?
We do thank you for your understanding.
